Fujitsu announced a new network scanner – the N1800.
“We at Fujitsu introduced another innovation in network scanning called the ScanSnap N1800 Network Scanner in order to help companies in paper intensive vertical markets such as healthcare, government, banking and education improve their business process management, efficiency and reduce their overall workplace costs. The scanner offers new tools to make digitizing documents simple and specialized training unnecessary. It is equipped with enhanced security features to combat the threat of data compromise and the flexibility to easily create customizable interface screens for a consistent user experience.“
There’s a plethora of capabilities on this device, including support for scanning into SharePoint:
“The ScanSnap N1800 offers users easy access to valuable business functions traditionally found on multiple devices through one common interface, including scan to e-mail, scan to folder, scan to network fax or network printer, scan to FTP, and scan to Microsoft SharePoint.“
One really cool thing – that adds flexibility and capability – is the touch screen on the N1800. Among other things, it doubles as a keyboard for input, and also for previewing and manipulating the document once it’s been scanned. Great innovation Fujitsu.
I have a ScanSnap S1500m for Mac, and it works like a charm.
