Winckworth Sherwood Implements MacroView with ClearPeople

UK Law firm Winckworth Sherwood has recently implemented a SharePoint-based document management system. The tool was MacroView DMF, and the partner was ClearPeople. The new product replaced a bespoke document management system that was showing its age … and impacting on fee-earner productivity.

The new SharePoint DMS stores, shares and manages the law firm’s growing volume and variety of electronic document types including email, drawings, plans and PDF files. Users can now quickly find and retrieve documents through customised MS Office and SharePoint search facilities. Crucial for most users, the solution offers a tight and intuitive integration into Outlook offers drag-and-drop of emails, attachments and files from the file system. Team collaboration is also enhanced by leveraging for example SharePoint Team Sites within the Outlook.

For ClearPeople, this is another win with MacroView in the legal sector; a previous win was Kinstellar in Europe, with fairly short implementation time (6 weeks).

MacroView DMF is one of the leading SharePoint-based document management systems add-ons for lawyers; others being Sword Excalibur (created at Lewis Silkin), and Handshake DM Director. With Clifford Chance also going the SharePoint route for its document management system, this is an industry ripe for change. Interesting times.
