Jive Gets $12 Million … Jive took $12 million of Series B funding from Sequoia Capital. “Jive, the Social Business Software leader, today announced that it has received $12 million from Sequoia Capital in its Series B round of funding. Sequoia also funded Jive’s Series A round of funding in August 2007. Jive will use the proceeds to increase its product footprint through new innovation and product development, expand its partner ecosystem, grow its sales and customer support teams, and to further capitalize on its market momentum.More

IBM Client for Smart Work … IBM and Canonical announced a new cloud- and Linux-based desktop package for companies looking to save money on IT. “The IBM Client for Smart Work (http://www.ibm.com/lotus/openclient), based on IBM productivity and collaboration software, helps organizations save up to 50 percent per seat on software costs versus a Microsoft-based desktop, in addition to avoiding requisite hardware upgrades. The package allows companies to use their existing PCs, lower-cost netbooks and thin clients. The new IBM package can be embedded in business processes. It is compatible with SOA-based IT environments and gives people a complete, open, and secure alternative to closed and costly Microsoft desktop software.More

MindManager 8 for Mac … Mindjet is getting ready to release Mindmanager 8 for the Mac, for 10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard). More
– Address Book integration, for task resource assignments.
– MindManager 8 supports gestures via MacBook trackpads, including pinch and expand, scroll, and swipe.
– Supports map export to Mindjet Player for sharing.
– Four options for integrating iCal events and to-dos with maps, including “Smart Calendar To Dos”

Attaain Updated with Collaboration … Attaain updated its web-based competitive intelligence system with new team collaboration capabilities. “The new workgroup collaboration features enable confidential web-based sharing of internal documents and enhanced tools for flagging and communicating important business information among team members ….
