Michael's Happenings

"I'll have half-a-dozen, thanks"

0929 on May 22, 2006 witnessed the safe arrival of Jonathan Samuel Sampson, weighing in at 9 pounds 8 ounces. We left home at 0715 to drive into Christchurch, arriving at the hospital by 0800. An hour and a half later, we had a sixth son on our hands.

Margaret, Katrina’s midwife said: “If you have another son, the children will be able to play Snow White and the 7 Dwarfes” (perhaps “7 Giants” would be closer to it). When told of Jonathan’s arrival, his five brothers — David (10), Matthew (8), Philip (7), Daniel (6) and Timothy (4) — raised a loud cheer. On meeting him for the first time tonight, they presented him with his first Lego set, and admitted him to their Lego club. Susanna (23.5mo) is very pleased to have a “nu baby” in the house.

We thank and praise God for this new gift (Psalm 127:3-5), for the perfect timing for Jonathan’s birth, and for seeing that everything worked through perfectly.
