It’s Father’s Day in New Zealand. For most fathers in Christchurch, it will be a day of looking after their families after the earthquake yesterday – perhaps even the idea that it is “Father’s Day” will be forgotten.
The night here was okay. A few shakes now and then, but nothing too serious. The biggest was at 0520, and a few of our children got up and stood under the door frame, but it was over quickly. Others slept through it.
It’s almost 7am on Sunday morning, and we have 6 of our 9 children up and by the fire. It’s meant to be cold and wet today, a big change on yesterday’s sunny day.
We are fine.
