Europe Tour in June 2010 is Cancelled

Ten days ago my Europe Tour for June 2010 was looking great. I had a keynote presentation to deliver at a SharePoint conference, a few days of consulting here and there, and a couple of SharePoint Roadmap masterclasses to present. I was scheduled to leave on June 19, and was really looking forward to it.

As of today, the tour is cancelled.

There appears to be a complex of factors at play:
– Competing events in London meant that my masterclass wouldn’t work on the date we chose.
– The World Cup is coming, and people would rather watch a match than listen to me. Imagine that! 🙂
– Upcoming holiday times in Germany, Norway and other places meant the timing wasn’t quite right.
– Lingering questions about the ash cloud, and future possible eruptions.
– Widespread economic uncertainty, due to the Greece crisis, the new government in the UK, and so on.

So … I’m not going. It’s time to get on with other client and publishing projects.
