  • Tivoli for SharePoint … IBM released the Tivoli Storage Manager for Microsoft SharePoint, providing new backup and recovery options. Supports SharePoint 2003 and 2007. “TSM for Microsoft SharePoint is aimed at reducing data loss and minimizing risks associated with organizations accessing, sharing and managing projects and storing business-critical content and applications in SharePoint repositories.” The technology is based on an OEM relationship with AvePoint Inc.   • Apptix Purchased WebMessenger … Apptix, a Microsoft hosting partner, purchased WebMessenger, a mobile instant messaging provider, for US$7 million. “WebMessenger plans to launch a new application later this year that integrates e-mail, voice mail, instant messaging, voice conferencing and web conferencing with support of more than 50 different phones and handheld devices.Washington Business Journal
  • Nokia Sued … A New Zealand-based company sued Nokia for patent infringement in Nokia’s messaging applications technology; the plaintiff claims that Nokia is infringing its data-packaging technology. ZDNet
