I read a great article by Paul Graham yesterday, entitled The Hardest Lessons for Startups to Learn. The seven lessons were:
- Release Early
- Keep Pumping Out Features … this thought particularly stood out in light of my new job … “they will love you if you improve in response to their comments, because customers are used to people ignoring them“
- Make Users Happy
- Fear the Right Things
- Commitment is a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy
- There is Always Room
- Don’t Get Your Hopes Up
I don’t have much to add to what he wrote, but I did want to say that his ideas resonated with me, and that I’ll be “working on my lessons” going forward. Thanks Paul.
