The times are-a-changin, even for Lars

Lars Plougmann, way over there on the other side of the world, has been blogging on “collaboration, technology and economics” on mindthis.net for quite a while now. I first met Lars at the Collaborative Technologies Conference in June 2005 in New York, and had spoken with him by email prior to that. He has been working as the biz dev guy for an IT consultancy in London, but today has signaled that it’s time for a change:

It is time for me to do more than write about collaboration. I have quit my day job in the enterprise content management space, and I am making business adoption of collaboration my new business. I am taking with me my economics background, my skills from management consulting, my experience from professional services firms, my life-long interest in technology and how it can be used to create business advantage.

I have come to appreciate the depth of insight within Lars … it’s more than just fluffy biz dev stuff, and actually I did comment on Lars “sounding like an analyst” up on shared-spaces.com a while ago. I heartily recommend that if you need some help, direction, and collaborative conversation in this area that you should get in contact with Lars.

Way to go Lars! All the very best with your new venture.

P.S. I can’t attend the Collaborative Technologies Conference in Boston this year, but am delighted to let you know that Lars will be moderating the panel session entitled Collaborative Workspaces: A Raft of Tools.
