It has been interesting to watch a stream of research reports this year on the growing adoption of Office 365. Clearly there are many organisations actively shifting from on-premises Microsoft solutions to Office 365, either in part or whole, as well as from competing solutions to Office 365. Here’s some of the findings I’ve seen and tracked:

– (Early 2015) Office 365 has been adopted by more than 30 million users and organisations (Barracuda)
– (March 2015) According to Okta, usage of Office 365 is quickly becoming the most used cloud app at work, with Exchange being the primary workload tracked in this instance (Business Insider)
– (March 2015) BitGlass reports that Office 365 has overtaken Google Apps in terms of usage (Business Insider)
– (August 2015) BitGlass says that adoption of Office 365 has grown more than 300% in the past 12 months, from 7.7% of enterprises in 2014 to 25.2% of enterprises in 2015 (CMSWire)

Good results / interesting times / some big challenges ahead.
