CREDANT Technologies recently undertook a survey of hotels in San Francisco, asking about lost mobile devices. It published the results as an infographic.
Over some period of time (undefined in the infographic):
– Over 2000 mobile devices were lost/left behind.
– 80% of devices were smartphones.
– Almost half of lost devices are never claimed.
How can you leave your phone behind, seriously? Is this the way to get a new phone? E.g., if you hate your corporate issued “whatever” and you want the “new-thing,” you leave “whatever” behind and jump the queue for the new one?
CREDANT ends the infographic with three recommendations on protecting data and devices.
