Off for a Couple of Weeks on Parental Leave

After a midnight drive into the hospital with Katrina, Joshua Marc Sampson joined our family just after 1am on Monday August 8. Weighing in at 10 lb 7, he was a big baby, but as we've previously had two children weighing 11 lb 2, he's not the heaviest. Katrina and Joshua are both well, and will be resting away from home for a couple of days.

So … that makes 10 children, 8 boys and 2 girls. I'll be on parental leave for a couple of weeks running the house and caring for Katrina and Joshua. I hope all is well in your world and work.

Update (August 13): Katrina posted photos of Joshua on her blog.

  1. Fantastic news. Congratulations and I’m sure all eleven of you are so pleased to be twelve. With factors of 2, 3, 4 and 6 there will be lots of family games you can now play. Good planning!
I’m picking up my new baby (an iPad!) tomorrow.

  2. Congratulations (again) ! Do you officially qualify as a “clan” yet ?
Best wishes to all the family but particularly Joshua Marc

  3. Thanks Martin – enjoy the new addition to your family. You’re not waiting for an iPad 3 though?
Not sure about the clan thing Jed. Happy to “just” be a (large) family.

  4. Many, many congrats from Southern California and the Central Desktop team! Glad to hear that all went well and that everyone is healthy.
I’ll never get over the fact that you have ten children – that is shock and awe to me.
Enjoy the first few weeks with the new one – those are always special days.

  5. Congratulations again, Michael and Katrina!
I remember when the magic number was 8… apparently 8 isn’t enough 🙂
Many blessings to you and your tribe.
    Cheers,
    Bradley

  6. Congratulations on the newborn kid! Wish you lot of success on bringing him the right way to this world. Best of luck !

  7. Hi Michael,
Congratulations to you and Katrina on Joshua’s birth!
Two children were enough for me. I could keep my eye on one while my wife could on the other one…… 🙂
