Trivantis recently released Snap! by Lectora, an e-learning add-on for PowerPoint. The basic idea is that you can transform a PowerPoint slide deck into a Flash-based presentation or e-learning course, with narration, video, and tests.

Snap! by Lectora empowers both novice and expert users to transform basic PowerPoint presentations into brilliant, interactive Flash masterpieces in minutes without the hefty cost. With the simple click of a button, Snap! by Lectora enables you to:
– Make your presentations come to life: Turn a simple PowerPoint presentation into an engaging Flash masterpiece in minutes. Add sizzle with audio, video and images.
– Create truly rapid eLearning: This easy-to-use and intuitive eLearning software comes equipped with courses full of interactive quizzes and engaging surveys.
– Share content with anyone, anywhere: Want your colleagues across the globe to review your eLearning course? Want to share your PowerPoint presentation with your friend who works remote? No problem, just upload it to SnapChannel.com.

The add-on is $99.

My Comments
1. In User Adoption Strategies, I talk about using screen recording software for creating material to help in stage 2, Cultivating Basic Concepts using the Web-based learning strategy. This software could help with communicating the more general principles and ideas.

2. Some people have asked me about recorded editions of my workshops, but I have not delivered anything in that space yet. This would give me a way of doing it.

3. At $99, it’s not expensive. Any price barrier that existed to prevent the creation of e-learning material has just disappeared.

  1. I guess I am still confused. Is this stand alone software? What is Snaps relationship to Lectora?

  2. Good question, Jody. Yes, Snap! by Lectora is a stand alone rapid e-Learning software for PowerPoint presentations. Snap! was created by the makers of Lectora. Although it does not have to be used with Lectora, it very easily integrates with Lectora should that be what you or another user wants.
