Box announced SimpleShare, a desktop application for seamlessly sending files, images and screencasts to the cloud:

“Today, the Box team is happy to introduce our newest desktop application, SimpleShare. Instead of taking a screenshot, saving it to your desktop, then uploading it to Box, Simple Share allows you to draw a region and instantly get a shared link to the image. Even better, you can also use the app to record and share screencasts – since the app records your screencast in flash, anyone who receives the link can instantly view it in the Box file previewer. You can even drag files from your desktop to the SimpleShare icon to instantly send them to Box.“

Box also offers a synchronization service for linking desktop files to the cloud.
