I attended a couple of case study sessions today at the New Zealand SharePoint Conference 2010, where the respective people were talking about their internal use of SharePoint. In both cases, SharePoint was being used to power collaboration sites (team sites, project sites), and in both cases SharePoint was also being used to power the intranet.
In one situation, the two were totally separate. “You go here to do collaboration; you go here for the Intranet.”
For the second, the two were integrated. “You go here for our Intranet and collaboration sites.”
I have to talk about this integration later this year at a couple of conferences … interesting times …
