One of my clients is looking for a search product, at the desktop level. Here’s the situation:
– they use Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2007
– they use Symantec Enterprise Vault to archive email
– they find the search tool in Outlook 2007 no good
– they disallow Google search on the desktop, due to performance reasons
– they find X1 Search stops working, and when it does work, it isn’t fast enough
Client operating system is Windows XP and Vista.
The ideal is that the user is able to do one search, and it pulls back all of the relevant local and archived email.
The question: What else should they look at? What would you recommend?
