- Gartner’s Wireless & Mobile Summit … Nick from Parlano reflects on the first day of the Gartner Wireless and Mobile Summit. Key points: (1) there’s no common ROI model or approach to measuring gains in productivity or cost reduction with the adoption of mobile applications; (2) mobile architectures and platforms are very scattered in deployments; (3) there’s no common sense about where and when to adopt certain mobile devices; and (4) Radicati released new figures saying that wireless email can save users 80 minutes a day, a figure that Nick finds incredulous. - PDA Shipments in 2006 … Gartner reported its 2006 figures for PDA shipments: 17.7 million units overall, with Microsoft Windows Mobile-based devices holding 56.1% of total shipped units. RIM had 20%, Palm 11%. Seattle PI. Mike says that RIM needs to watch out for the new Treos, however, as they can deliver wireless email cheaper and easier than BlackBerry devices.

- Iterate for Habit Formation … Small changes, repeated frequently, lead to habit formation and character. “So, here’s a “little” thing you can do. For the next few days, when you get home (or back to the hotel!) from work, change your clothes and do something. A few crunches, 10 minutes of writing, practice breathing while sitting in a comfortable chair…anything!
