3M Mobile Projectors – for Presentations and Ad-Hoc Collaboration

3M released two new mobile projectors – for on-the-go presentations and ad-hoc collaborative working sessions.

The MP220 has:
– widescreen resolution (WSVGA)
– 65-lumens
– 120 minutes of battery life
– an internal 1GB of memory, and a MicroSD card slot for loading files
– a cable for connecting directly to iPads and iPhones
– in the UK, price is £399

The MP410 has:
– AC power
– HD image of up to 100 inches diagonally
– a weight of 375 grams
– 20,000 hour LED life
– a VGA cable
– an optional wireless adapter, for connecting devices wirelessly to the projector.
– in the UK, price is £499

Clearly there’s a value proposition for those needing to give on-the-go presentations, mixed with a heavy travel schedule. But I think there is also a value opportunity for ad-hoc collaborative working sessions, where instead of clustering around a laptop screen, the MP410 could be used to give a bigger working canvas. With the wireless link, people could easily share projection rights too.
