Conference Notes

On the Exhibition Floor with Connectbeam (KMWorld 2008)

Connectbeam is a social bookmarking and networking appliance. For inhouse deployment. Integrate into blogs, wikis, SharePoint, and other things. Chuck showed me an example … opened a Confluence wiki page, added tags.

Within Outlook, adds a social contact card, showing what the person has been tagging recently. Eg, similar to Twitter. Can also have a toolbar.

Within a browser, open a search page. User does a search, and it shows the standard things, and also integrates into Connectbeam to show what we have about the current search terms.

Tag cloud has a scroll bar, for filtering by today and back to all time.

Can view a social card within Connectbeam, and can see everything that people have been doing. Can also get alerts by RSS or email to come back in.
