I was at a client’s site all day today. During a mid-afternoon meeting (not one I was in) the CEO received a call saying that his wife was close to death. It’s not that her passing was unexpected … it was … she’s had cancer for some time. But it was unexpected then and there — he’s in a meeting! And before the afternoon was out, she had died.

Big changes up ahead for my CEO friend. I salute him for his faithfulness to one woman. That’s sadly rare today. My heart goes out to him for the loss of a great friend and life partner. There will be much to work through, much loss to experience, much grief to come to terms with.
