In my recent journeys to London, I have stayed at the Chancery Court Hotel in Holborn. It’s become my London home-away-from-home, and after 40 hours of being in transit across the world, finally being able to walk under the archway has signalled arrival and completion. I was looking forward to staying there again in September, and in many trips beyond that.
And, now, in a terrible update, I hear it is going to be closed:
“On account of our valued relationship, I am writing to personally inform you that the Chancery Court Hotel will cease operations on Wednesday 31st July 2013.
I understand that this may be unexpected news and wish to take this opportunity to offer our sincere thanks for your loyalty and for entrusting us as your preferred London hotel, especially as there are a number of choices available to you.
With regard to the hotel closing, please do let me know should you require my assistance with an introduction to another hotel in the area, I would be delighted to help you. Finally, I want to inform you that I will be in touch over the coming months with further news on the exciting plans for this heritage building.“
Meh. I’m going to have to find a new favourite hotel in London.
